The Senior Australian of the Year Award is given to people who are over 55 years and have done their best contribution in any field for the country. The Australian of the Year Awards provides to all Australians who make proud of the country in any way. These awards have four categories including the following:

- Senior Australian of the Year (65 years or over-aged)
- Young Australian of the Year (ages 16 to 30)
